about

LMC is committed to the ethnic and community outlets that play a significant role in educating, engaging, and mobilizing their readers. Independent local news providers are an essential pillar in the information ecosystem of their communities and vital for strengthening democracy. In the last decade, local news has come under threat due to economic, technological, and social forces. LMC has pioneered capacity building to counter some of these challenges and to create essential support to diverse media in the Southwest. The goal is to work towards resilient and viable media organizations that inform the public and hold power accountable.
